Labratory or Farm?

The more I learn about Thrive Life foods, the more excited I become.  Where have you been all my life?  I'm a preservation woman, I don't live from grocery store trip to grocery store trip and I love to feed my family healthy food.  I know that Thrive Life is a relatively new company but they are growing at a fast rate and I believe it's mainly because people trust them.

This morning I wanted to make something a little hearty as we had been working and it was nearly 11 a.m.  I got online at Thrivelife.com and searched recipes/breakfast and selected Breakfast Potato Hash.  As I looked at the picture and really wanting to do that one, I realized I have not yet received my Thrive Life potato shreds so I went to my basement and dug out my 6 gallon bucket of another brand of potato shreds.  I read the label. "Dehydrated"  Not freeze dried but OK!

I opened the bucket.  Actually, my husband worked and toiled after I had worked and toiled to no avail to open the bucket of potatoes.  Finally, after he used a big screwdriver to break the band around the bucket it took another 5 minutes or so to pry off the lid.  All this time I was thinking what I would do if I really needed these potatoes to feed my hungry family in the event of a disaster.  My husband might not be available to use his manly skills and tools to let me gain access to my food.

I am so happy that I can simply pop a top or use a can opener to get to my Thrive Life food.  As usual, with all of my other cans and buckets of food storage, it was only about half full.  Wow!  I am so glad I am discovering what I really have and have found Thrive Life.

Not just potatoes, salt, chemicals and preservatives.
I had  another surprise as I read the label of ingredients.  My goal is to remove as much of what is not from the natural source as possible.  When I bought these I had no idea I wasn't buying just  real potatoes, no chemicals, no nasty sodium chloride commonly known as salt.  There are more healthy alternatives.  Sea Salt and Pink Himalayan are my choices.  In order to be able to have the dehydrated food rated at 25 year shelf life they have to add the preservatives.

If I had no other food, I would probably still eat the other potatoes but I can't wait for my Thrive Life Freeze Dried Potato with NO artificial anything, no chemicals and no salt to arrive.  I love peace of mind!

Delicious and all in one pan
I grew up in the country and learned to cook from a young age.  I love to experiment and it is very difficult for me to follow even a new recipe with exactness.  This is no exception.  Because this was our main dish I added scrambled eggs and dotted with picante and garnished with grated cheddar cheese.

The flavor was really nice.  The veggies of peppers, onions, kale, mushrooms and celery were still crisp, formed and flavorful just as if they were fresh from the garden.  I had absolutely no waste, no prep time and very few dishes.

My result.  Delicious!
It took a little longer to prepare because of the      dehydrated potatoes.  Freeze dried foods refresh much more quickly and next time I'll try it with that.

Today I was deep cleaning my kitchen and it was so nice to have something hearty to eat and to feed my husband without needing to make a big mess again.  I had the meal dishes cleaned up in no time and went back to my task at hand.

Next I get to decide what to serve my guests tomorrow at my Launch Party.  I hope you can make it. Please join me on Facebook and keep up with all the info, discoveries, recipes and awesome products.
